What's included

What a mattress clean covers

A mattress absorbs a lot over years of regular use — dust, skin cells, sweat and everyday dirt work their way into the fabric and padding, well below what vacuuming or a wipe-down can reach. Our mattress cleaning is a deep clean of the whole surface, aimed at:

Dust & allergen build-up

Dust and dust mites are a well-known feature of mattresses that see regular use — a deep clean addresses that build-up directly, which is one of the main reasons people book this service.

Everyday marks & staining

General discolouration and everyday marks are treated as part of the clean, alongside the deep-down clean itself.

Odour

Cleaning helps lift everyday odours that build up in fabric and padding over time, rather than masking them.

Both sides, where needed

Depending on the mattress, we can clean both sides — useful ahead of flipping or rotating a mattress.

Who it's for

When Dublin households book a mattress clean

Mattress cleaning is a common booking for families, especially where allergy sufferers or young children are in the house, since dust and dust mites in bedding and mattresses are a recognised trigger for allergy and asthma symptoms — reducing that build-up is a standard reason to have a mattress deep cleaned, not a marketing claim we're making up.

It's also regularly booked after an illness in the house, when people want bedding and the mattress properly cleaned rather than just changed over, and around a house move — either cleaning a mattress before it goes into a new home, or cleaning one already there before you move in. Landlords and letting agents sometimes include it as part of preparing a property between tenancies too.

Method

How we clean a mattress

We use hot water extraction — the same core method we use on carpets and upholstery, adjusted for mattress fabric and fill. Cleaning solution and hot water are worked into the surface and then extracted back out, taking dirt, dust and allergen build-up with it, rather than just pushing moisture into the padding and leaving it there. We check the mattress fabric first, since covers vary between quilted, woven and other materials, and treat it accordingly.

We take reasonable time on extraction specifically because over-wetting a mattress is the main risk with any wet cleaning method — a mattress that stays damp for too long isn't a good outcome. We'll always give you a straight answer on drying time before we leave.

Reviews

A recent mattress cleaning job

"We moved into a new place and the carpets were severely stained as well as our two mattresses. I thought it wasn't possible to remove these stains, but our technician removed all of them. He went above and beyond, did the 2 mattresses, staircase + landing, 2 bedrooms and deep cleaned our sofa. I cannot recommend him enough and he is very fairly price."

FAQ

Mattress cleaning questions

How often should mattresses be cleaned?

There's no fixed rule, but many households find once or twice a year keeps a mattress in noticeably better condition, with more frequent cleaning for allergy sufferers, young children or after an illness. If it's been years since your mattress had a deep clean, or you can't remember the last one, that's usually a good sign it's due.

Can you clean memory foam, spring and hybrid mattresses the same way?

The core hot water extraction method is similar, but we adjust it for the mattress type. Memory foam and hybrid mattresses with foam layers need more care around moisture, since foam holds onto damp for longer than the fabric surface of a spring mattress, so we take extra care with extraction and drying time on foam mattresses. We check what you have when you book so we can plan the visit properly, and if a mattress isn't suitable for wet cleaning, we'll say so rather than clean it anyway.

Do you clean children's or cot mattresses?

Yes — cot and children's mattresses can be cleaned as part of a booking, and it's a common request from parents dealing with the usual spills and accidents that come with young kids. Let us know the mattress size when you book, as cot mattresses are a different size and price to a standard bed.

Should I get a second-hand mattress cleaned before using it?

That's a reasonable thing to want, and it's something we're regularly asked to do — a deep clean before a second-hand or inherited mattress goes into use addresses dust, allergens and any residue from its previous owner in a way that a vacuum alone doesn't. We can't tell you anything about a mattress's internal condition, like the state of its springs or foam, just clean it thoroughly on the surface and through the fabric.

Does mattress cleaning remove stains?

Cleaning improves general staining and everyday marks as part of the process. For a specific set-in stain, let us know in advance — see our stain removal page for how we approach targeted stain treatment.

Can you get rid of bed bugs when cleaning a mattress?

Hot water extraction cleaning is not a bed bug treatment, and we don't claim it as one. If you suspect bed bugs, you need a pest control specialist — treatment designed specifically for bed bugs — rather than a mattress clean. We're happy to clean a mattress for general dust, allergens and staining once any bed bug issue has been properly dealt with by a pest control professional.

Is it safe to sleep on the mattress the same day?

It depends on drying time, which varies with the mattress and room ventilation. We use hot water extraction, which pulls moisture back out during the clean, and we'll give you a realistic drying estimate before we finish so you know when it's ready to use again.

Do you need to move the mattress off the bed frame to clean it?

Not usually — most mattresses can be cleaned in place on the bed frame or base. It helps if there's reasonable space around the bed to work, and if the mattress needs turning or lifting for any reason we'll handle that as part of the visit. Let us know about anything unusual with the frame or access when you book.

Will a mattress protector reduce how often I need this done?

A good mattress protector helps keep spills, sweat and everyday dirt from soaking into the mattress itself, which can reduce staining and may mean less frequent deep cleaning is needed — though dust and allergens still build up in and around a protector over time, so it doesn't remove the need for cleaning altogether, just makes each clean a bit more effective.

Can you clean a mattress in a rented apartment or during a move?

Yes — mattress cleaning is a common request around house moves, whether you're bringing a mattress with you or cleaning one already in a new home before you settle in.
